Yi-Peng Guo is an Associate Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor at the School of Atmospheric Sciences, Nanjing University. He specializes in research related to the weather processes and climate variability of tropical cyclone, and the interactions across different temporal and spatial scales. His research focuses on the impacts and mechanisms of global warming, as well as anthropogenic and natural contributions to the characteristics of tropical cyclones at different temporal and spatial scales and the potential disasters. He also investigates the seasonal, interannual, and decadal variations of typhoon activity and their prediction. He authored over 30 SCI papers, which have been published in prestigious international academic journals, including Nature Communications. He has led and contributed to numerous projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In 2022, he was selected as a “Zhongying Young Scholar” in Nanjing University, and in 2019 he received support from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation. He has been serving as a member and secretary of the China Committee of the World Weather Research Program since 2021. In 2023, he received funding from the National Natural Science Foundation of China for Outstanding Young Scientists. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for more than ten international academic journals, including Nature, Journal of Climate, Climate Dynamics, and Geophysical Research Letters.
