Career Overview

Yi-Peng Guo, associate professor, focuses his research on tropical cyclone weather processesand climate variability. He is concerned with the impact and mechanisms of global warming, as well as various anthropogenic and natural forcings on the activity characteristics and potential hazards of global tropical cyclones across different spatial and temporal scales. He also studies the seasonal, interannual, and decadal variability of typhoon activity and its prediction. He has published over 30 SCI papers in top international academic journals such as Nature Communicationsand Journal of Climate. He has led and participated in several major projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He was selected for the 'Zhongying Young Scholars' program of Nanjing University in 2022 and the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation in 2019. Since 2021, he has served as a member and secretary of the Chinese Committee of the World Weather Research Program. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for several international academic journals, including Nature, Journal of Climate, Climate Dynamics, and Geophysical Research Letters.
