Career Overview
Dr. Huang joined Nanjing University in 2009 and currently is a professor at the School of Atmospheric Sciences. She received her B.S. and Ph.D. in atmospheric sciences from Nanjing University. Dr. Huang has involved in extreme events, model uncertainty, and East Asian climate change and climate variability. She has hosted and participated in more than ten research projects and published nearly 40 papers. Dr. Huang indicated a set of methods to detect extreme events and proposed the mechanisms from the perspective of heterogeneous warming. She identified the sensitive regions over China in simulating precipitation. The model uncertainties have contributed to the ratio of stratiform and convective precipitation, model resolution and the physical relations between precipitation and sea surface temperature. A particular focus area is to understand the concurrent variation of the East Asian subtropical jet and polar-front jet, its climate effect and possible mechanisms. She also teaches the National Essential Course Fluid Dynamics and has won several teaching awards.
